Money, seasons and packing

Bring cash in vatu

We don't take cards. You can pay at the bungalow in cash or by bank transfer before you arrive. Banks and ATMs are far from the volcano, so change money in Port Vila.

Best time to visit

The dry season, May to October, is the most comfortable time for walking and tours. Volcano visits depend on the official alert level on the day.

What to pack

  • Light clothes plus a warm layer for the crater rim
  • Closed shoes and a rain jacket
  • Swimwear, reef shoes and snorkel gear
  • Sunscreen, hat and insect repellent
  • A torch or headlamp
  • A cloth or bag to keep ash off your camera
